Definición
Biobío
Es el nombre adecuado de la VIII Región chilena.
La región de Chile cuya capital es la ciudad de Concepción se escribe Biobío, en una sola palabra, sin guion y con tilde en la segunda i. Y así figura en las recientes normas del Instituto Geográfico Militar chileno, que es el organismo que determina la forma oficial de los topónimos de este país.
Prefiérase, por tanto, esta grafía a otras como: Bío-Bío, Bio-bio, Bio bío o incluso BíoBío.
